Support Groups
As part of our response to the impact of the January 12, 2010, earthquake in Haiti on the lives of our clients here in the United States, we have created support groups to help affected families and individuals cope and move forward with their lives. The support groups are held on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00PM, tackling a series of practical and emotional topics including the following:
- Stress management and identification
- Grief support from other participants and Coalition staff
- Referrals to professional counselors for individuals with more complex needs
- Immigration information about differed action and temporary protected status
- Housing access
- Department of Social Services information
- And more
Employment-Readiness Workshops
Because many of our clients are dealing with financial difficulties in the current economic climate, we have added a job readiness workshop to our services. These job readiness workshops are held on Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00PM.
